Residents of Kampung Tasik Permai enjoy a rather laid-back lifestyle with fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery from their homes; however it cannot be avoided that they are located in one Ampang, one of the most coveted and busiest areas in the city. As such, traffic in the area is high and congestion is unavoidable especially at the junction of Jalan Taman Putra and Jalan Tasik Tambahan 1, with intermittent congestion all through to and fro the city.
Kampung Tasik Permai has its own range of problems as well, although there have been much effort in curbing them. Crime rate which used to be relatively high in the area has purportedly dropped by 14% and dengue cases which used to be quite high has also been brought down via many aggressive measures including performing fogging and larviciding within the resident's unit itself. The area is also flash flood prone during extreme downpours.
Although touted by some sellers to be an excellent investment, Kampung Tasik Permai is leasehold property and it is therefore quite risky if the government decides that they want the land back as with the issue of residents in SS2, Petaling Jaya who are being forced to leave their homes for the development of the new KIDEX Highway. In the meantime it is however quite a pleasant home in a central location for those who work in the city.
