Taman Perling is a mixed development township situated in Tampoi, Johor Bahru. It was developed in 1981 and is now one of the main townships of Johor Bahru. Bandar Uda Utama and Taman Sutera are two of the nearest townships.

Other schools that are located nearby are SM Sri Omega, SK Pengkalan Rinting and SK Seri Perling 2, all located within a 15 minutes drive away. Taman Perling has been rapidly developing over the years and is now one of Johor's busiest townships. Located near to the second-link highway which connects Johor to Singapore, this provides ample opportunities to those working in Johor and also in Singapore. Many Singaporeans are very much interested in properties in Johor particularly Taman Perling as it is convenient to travel to work and also the costs of living is lower in Johor.
Many locals would choose this as their permanent residence as many of them are also working in Singapore and with the second-link highway launched, there are bound to be more developments around that area. However, Taman Perling also has its own fair share of petty crimes in the area such as people stealing drain covers within the development. The suspect was seen wearing a security guard attire and was carrying 3 drain covers wrapped in newspapers when the patrol police officers stop him, the suspect was also tested positive in a standard drugs test and was later detained.
