SS1 (also known as Kampung Tunku) is an established residential precinct within Petaling Jaya vicinity. It is among the oldest housing estate of Petaling Jaya. All houses in SS1 are very old, even though some look brand new as they have been renovated by the owner to increase the value. Prices of these houses are hovering from RM1 million while the renovated ones are asking for around RM2.5 million up to near RM3 million.

Kampung Tunku is a great place to live as the neighborhood is serene and peaceful unlike other Petaling Jaya estates like SS2 and SS21, where one can find a lot of cars buzzing around every single minute. Besides that, its resident association is strong here and always stand behind residents’ rights.
