The earliest developers in the enclave are Lee Fah Sung and Petaling Garden Bhd back then in 1963, where Section 5 was developed as a satellite town of Kuala Lumpur. Section 5 is also among the earliest townships in Petaling Jaya.
Aplenty amenities and facilities are located within the enclave of Section 5. There are several schools in the vicinity including SMK Taman Petaling, SMK La Salle and SRK La Salle. Moreover, there are other few schools located just a stone throw away from the enclave such as SMK Assunta, Catholic High School, and SK Petaling Jaya 1 and 2.
As for recreational, there are few playgrounds mere minutes away from MBPJ Hockey Stadium, Arena Rakan Muda and Taman Jaya Lake. Not only that, there are several mosques, churches, and temples can be found nearby. Thus, Section 5 is just a perfect place to stay to grow a family.
The location of Section 5 is also great if one needs to commute to the city centre, Mid Valley City or Bangsar for work, as it is merely just 15 minutes to those areas. For shopping and leisure, it is served by Amcorp Mall, Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens and Bangsar Village.

The residential enclave of Section 5 is favored because of its location with a nice suburban feel, but yet located near to the city. It is located right next to the green lung of Petaling Jaya, Bukit Gasing Forest Reserve. The hill is the only remaining secondary forest in Petaling Jaya and it runs a 2 km long strip and covers approximately 100 acres. Hence, the air is fresher and quieter here than most of parts of the Klang Valley.
Besides that, the views from this uphill enclave are splendid. One can view the magnificent views of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur from the top of the hill. Even from the houses, one can enjoy the views of Petaling Jaya neighborhood.
Even though the residential in Section 5 are old, the market value is steady and appreciated nicely every year – even during recession period. It is believed that the price escalates around 5% to 10% per annum and will continue to do so due to high demand and short of supply.
