Kiara 1888 is located at Jalan Kiara 3, the popular residential area of Mont Kiara. It is a development that portrays modern living in the midst of Zen Garden, tropical fairways and beautiful water featured structures. Kiara 1888 got its name from the lot, which is lot 1888, Jalan Kiara 3.
Kiara 1888 is easily accessible via Penchala Link, NKVE and Sprint Highway with close proximity to amenities such as Sri Hartamas Square, commercial areas of Mont Kiara and also the Mont Kiara Equestrian Club. There are also Garden International School and Mont Kiara International School nearby; suitable for families with children.
Kiara 1888 consists of a high rise 26-storey condominium with 130 units. The standard units comes in 3 sizes, 1,927, 1,238 and 1,636 sf; whilst the duplex units are sized at 3,272 and 3,542 sf, while the penthouse sizes are at 3,466 and 2,723 sf, which are quite impressive sizes. There are villas in the development as well. The villas are 5 to 6 units high, with the penthouse duplexes on the top two floors. The standard units come in 2,357, 2,390 and 2,314 sf; while the penthouse duplexes are at 3,982 and 3,950 sf. For the standard units of the villas, the prices range from RM920,000 to RM1,600,000, which is about RM370 to RM420 psf; quite reasonable for sizes that big.
The villas are complete with luxuries; 3+1 rooms along with private lift lobby and a huge family room. The prices for such impressive layouts and finishes are incredibly attractive, especially when the average prices for the condominiums in Mont Kiara area is about RM350 to RM450 psf.
Kiara 1888 is smacked at the very edge of Mont Kiara, the closest to Segambut Dalam. It is a very short distance away from the squatters that has long been haunting the inner part of Segambut Dalam. With the squatter houses extremely close to the side of the narrow road along the way from Segambut to Jalan Kiara, it is not a good sight at all.
With the increasing residential developments in the same area, and also the two international schools nearby, traffic congestion is going to be at its peak. This made Mont Kiara a pretty heavily developed area, and the road systems cannot contain the heavy traffic. This whole area is already crowded with too many condominium projects, there are upcoming developments seems to be sprouting everywhere with rows and rows of small plots owned by private owners and development companies that are yet to be developed.
But despite of all that, Kiara 1888 is a beautifully designed development that meets various needs of the residents. Kiara 1888 has all the basic facilities you would see in its competitors, except that the landscape here is quite beautifully laid, especially the entrance and the surrounding of the Zen Garden as well as the pool deck. There is also a nature park that comes with showers that are able to give the residents an interesting experience, living in a space where greens are not lack as well.
Mitraland is the developer of Kiara 1888, and this would be their first time building high-end development in Mont Kiara. Not surprisingly, the project was sold out in 2006 without any show units, all merely through by word of mouth, fliers and scaled models. However, now you could only be the subsale buyer, since it is all sold-out. That shows how affordable this attractive development is.
As Kiara 1888 will be fully developed by 2009, this is a good time to view the masterpiece and see whether this place is good enough for rental or even investment. Although the location and the squatters spoils it all, Kiara 1888 still stands majestic because there are more strengths in the development than flaws compared to the rest in the Mont Kiara area.
