Kota Kemuning is an integrated township in Shah Alam spanning over 1,820 acres. It is a partnership project between DRB-Hicom and Gamuda, under the umbrella of Hicom-Gamuda Development.
Being an integrated township, Kota Kemuning is filled with bungalow lands, bungalows, semi-detached homes, semi-detached homes, double-storey links, town houses, condominiums and apartments. Its commercial component includes commercial centres, shop-offices, commercial lands, terraced and semi-detached factories.
Kota Kemuning boasts on natural elements with its landscape design comprises abundant parks, lakes and water features as well as lush landscaping. The developer claims that the township is built with 45% of land is dedicated to green lungs, lakes, parks and open spaces.
Among its signature landscaping are its Central Park that consists of a 22-acre lake and a 25-acre park surrounding it, and the Lakeside Drive that boasts the view of the lake and landscaped greenery surrounding it. It is one of the favorite places in Kota Kemuning, as people jog and stroll around the lake. There is also an 8-km walkway that passing through the neighborhood and links parks and precincts.
There are 2 schools located within the vicinity of Kota Kemuning, namely SMK Kota Kemuning and SK Kota Kemuning. It is also minutes away to SK Bukit Rimau and Chinese Taipei School.
Other than that, there are outdoor courts for basketball and a community hall that also includes badminton courts. Kota Kemuning is also famous for its golf course, Kota Permai Golf and Country Club that also hosts squash courts, a fitness centre, swimming pools and tennis courts besides the usual golf course. Its 18-hole golf course is a renowned course among avid golfers and has held various championships including Volvo Masters and Maybank Malaysia Open.
Kota Kemuning is also furnished with commercial component to fulfill residents’ needs. There are McDonald’s, Delifrance, Domino’s, 24-hour KFC with Drive Thru, Pizza Hut and Eon Bank to name a few located in the township. Adding to that, there is Carrefour Bukit Rimau located nearby.
Kota Kemuning is a booming township nowadays. It is really different nowadays compared to its previous 7 years back whereby it seems gloomy and lacking of amenities to be called a self-sustained township. Now, it is one of the preferred residential township to live in, and is supported by surrounding enclaves of Bukit Rimau, Sri Suria and Sri Damai.
