Johor Bahru Neighbourhood and Local Info.

Johor Bahru is located in the Southern part of Malaysia, along the borders of Singapore. It is the capital of Johor and in the recent years has been booming in terms of economy and property due to numerous careful plannings and developments. The metropolitan of Johor Bahru is known as Iskandar Malaysia and the royal village Pasir Pelangi is also located within the state.

Johor Bahru was previously a sleepy town with not much development. However, after much careful planning and with the discovery of Singaporeans are in need of cheaper homes, Johor Bahru suddenly became a frenzy of activity in housing developments. Due to the currency exchange, what would be considered a ridiculously exorbitant price tag for a home to Malaysians is nothing but a pittance for Singaporeans.

Houses in Johor Bahru are priced at a minimum range of RM500,000 which used to be the minimum price of which foreigners can buy a house in Malaysia. However after the Malaysian Budget 2014 was announced, prices now are expected to increase to a minimum of RM1,000,000. With the exploration of Nusajaya, Gelang Patah and Puteri Harbour, more housing area are expected to bloom soon.

The high rises in Johor Bahru boast to have the latest in technology and architecture while overlooking the straits while higher floors will have city line views as well, while landed properties are touted to have large built ups with with the latest in safety features and set in gated and guarded communities. The Johor-Singapore Causeway link are all purported to be almost outside the housing developments as well, a factor that draws many Singaporeans who do not mind travelling to and fro the two countries for work everyday.

Amenities are decent in Johor Bahru with shopping malls such as the famous Johor Premium Outlet, Johor Bahru City Square and Pelangi Leisure Mall, while the major entertainment they boast is of Legoland Malaysia; the first Legoland theme park in Asia. The rapid and ongoing development construction and land clearing plans are currently making the city a very quiet place, in terms of traffic and population.

The airport that serves this state is the Senai International Airport, and the Larkin Bus and Taxi Terminal offers public transportation intercity and interstate. By car, Johor Bahru is accessible via the North-South Expressway.
