Suasana Bukit Ceylon (also known as Raja Chulan Residences) is an upmarket serviced apartment sited within the tranquil yet happening Bukit Ceylon. It is located on a 6,070 sq m freehold site, in between St Andrews Presbyterian Church and Verticas Residensi.
This long-awaited apartment (due to stop-work order that lasted 16 months) comprises a 34-storey tower, that consists of 310 units with built-up size ranging from 729 sq ft to 5,618 sq ft. There are few layouts available, from one-bedroom, two-bedroom to penthouse unit to choose from.
Bukit Ceylon is indeed the most peaceful place to be and live in the middle of the city centre. Adding to the green surrounding, if you opt for the unit facing the north, you will have the pool view as well as command an obstructed view of the KLCC Twin Tower and KL city centre skyline.
Bukit Ceylon is well-served by numerous amenities surrounding the hill. Just along Jalan Ceylon itself, there are rows of bars and cafes that mostly serve Western cuisine. Besides that, this vicinity is just next to Bukit Bintang shopping belt that contains Pavilion KL, Fahrenheit 88, Starhill Gallery and Lot 10 to name a few.
Suasana Bukit Ceylon was previously suspended due to a stop-work order by the Government following the landslide at Bukit Antarabangsa in 2008. The order was given to most high-rise developments located on hill slopes after the tragedy.
According to the developer, they are using secant pile walls, a Germany technology, as retaining walls, to avoid landslide. This interlocking pile is a better slope security solution and prevents ingress of earth and water into the site. Besides that, the developer also claimed that the sub-soil at the site was predominantly clay-like silt – that is good enough for high-rise development.
However, there was another controversy. The site of Suasana Bukit Ceylon was claimed to have killed a construction worker due to landslides occurring at the site. However, UMLand has denied the accusation and told that it was happened elsewhere. Apparently, the land clearing for this project which involved a big chunk of this hill has affected a bungalow located on top of the hill.
The developer of has just started the construction work, and Suasana Bukit Ceylon is expected to be completed in December 2010. UMLand has not officially launched this project, and the developer said they might launch it by end of 2010. Most probably, it will be tagged at about RM800 psf.
