Citta (also known as Citta Strip Mall) is an open air shopping mall concept sited within Ara Damansara vicinity. It is strategically positioned in between Sime Darby’s Ara Damansara township and the exclusive Saujana enclave. Sprawling over 8-acre of leasehold land, Citta comprises of a 4-storey mall with 424,467 sf of net lettable area and about 130 stores. There are a total of 1,200 car park bays provided with 400 bays on the ground.
According to the developer, it is expected to have brands like MBO cinemas, Harvey Norman, Julia Gabriel and Chiltern House, Anjappar and Cafe Barbera. This shopping mall allows flexible trading hours from 7 am up to 1 am. It is well surrounded with lush greenery to create an eco-friendly atmosphere. It is designed with open-plan structure with no hidden corners and well-lit overall for security. Other than that, its other eminent feature is effective layout whereby all shops are facing car park – easily spotted and visible.
Besides that, Citta is built with oversized glass lifts (like the ones in KLIA) and 12-ft covered walkways. It also features big alfresco areas. The building is equipped with rain water harvesting system. It is accessible via Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang which is connected to New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Federal Highway, and Kelana Jaya – Subang Highway. Besides that, it is just 7 minutes drive to Subang Jaya KTM Komuter Station.
According to the developer of Citta, there is a total population of 369,286 within 10 minutes driving from the mall with total monthly household income of RM454,600,250 and average monthly household income of RM6,699. And with the fast growing number of population in the area (due to completion of new developments in Ara Damansara and Saujana), there is potential for these numbers to increase.
The nearest shopping mall (within the same concept) is NZX Commercial Centre, which also boasts an open air mall concept located within the same Ara vicinity. NZX is quite a failure even though it is surrounded by high-rise and high-density condominiums and right next to Ara Damansara township. However, NZX Commercial Centre is not very well-positioned as it is hard to find, and not adjacent to prime road – unlike Citta which is positioned along Jalan Lapangan Terbang and can be easily accessible. Besides NZX, Citta shall compete with the upcoming Eve Suite and Oasis Ara Damansara.
