I totally understand that all those involved in real estate industry either as agents or negotiators need to make a living but do we really need to put up those small yellow coloured for sale or for rent boards at traffic lights, trees or any places deemed necessary to get a buyer or a tenant?
I apologize if this question seems inappropriate but if we want to be treated as professional real estate agents don't we have to first treat ourselves with dignity and be proud of the profession?
There's actually a very fine line between the boards that was put up by agents and the boards put up by those loan people you know?
Just my two cents ... cause i believe all agents/negotiators are professionals and will not go down on the standards just to earn fast money..but then again i may be wrong..cheers!

Usually you will need to get local council permit, e.g. DBKL, MPPJ to post anywhere on the street ... but i doubt any agents comply ... |

No, it is illegal to do so. If such ads are legal, then the Ah Longs' ads are also legal.

Nick H.Ng..exactly!..That is exactly what i thought off too. Real estate agents or even negotiators are in a very professional industry but sadly because of some who are not really being professional in their field it effected others whom are trying to be as professional as they can in earning a living in this industry. Its is sad when we hear agents undercutting others or not actually 'performing' as they should have cause it effects the rest. We may be working on our own from different companies or agencies but we are all in the same industry. i just hope that some day when anyone mentions real estate agents they will be mentioned with respect and dignity...just my two cents..:) |

A professional property negotiator would never place such banners/boards at any traffic lights/trees/lamp poles etc. Most likely those who advertise in such a manner are those illegal property negotiators which are not attached to any agency. Just be extra cautious when dealing with such agents as in the end, the decision is yours whether you feel comfortable to proceed in buying or renting with that agent. |

If the nego were to take exams - how many of them would pass? For heaven sake , I figure 90% can't even understand the herein exceptional clauses and implications in the standard tenancy agreement notwithtstanding. Heck, there are even some who dun speak or write English though the Sales and Purchase agreement is in English. So passing the exam in real estate - in plain Malaysian Inglish - Can Boh? ( which means can or not ) or can Meh? LOL |

my feeling for M'sia real estate agents are mixed. Fortunately the 2 that I met are professional enough...but the other one...quite scary...not because his service was bad...but because of 'chao ji bxx', 'xxxxx ji bao'...long story...scary...well, I hope this agent could be more 'forgiving' cos in this line, you have to learn this... |
