    Island & Peninsular is a big name in development and construction industry. It is one of the largest property developers in Malaysia. The company has delivered tens of residential as well as township developments that include Alam Damai in Cheras, Taman Setiawangsa in Kuala Lumpur, Bandar Kinrara, Bayu Lake Homes in Negeri Sembilan, Alam Impian in Shah Alam and Alam Sari in Bangi.

    Ampang Hilir enclave is a great residential to live as it offers lush greenery within the neighborhood and well located very near to the KLCC and the Kuala Lumpur city center. Besides Ampang 971, there are plenty of low-rise townhouses built within the enclave. Just along Jalan Ritchie are Villa Aman, 327 Persiaran Ritchie and Lot 16. There are plenty more along Jalan Ampang Hilir namely Katana II, Seri Hening Residence, Tara and Iringan Hijau among others.

    Even though there are plenty of residential in the area, which means high competition among each other, the Ampang Hilir enclave remains as high class residential and still highly demanded. But, with plenty more new residential development to be commenced in the area as well within KLCC enclave, Kuala Lumpur seems short of expatriates to fill them.

    Some residents of Ampang 971 claimed that the facilities and greenery in the compound are not very well maintained. The gardens are not very well tendered. Also, the children's playground is slippery as well.

    Ampang 971 is adjacent to 33 kV TNB high tension which is positioned less than 50m from the back of the properties. This exposes its residents towards the risk of radiation hazard from the electromagnetic field (EMF) generated by the power lines. Thus, Ampang 971 will be on the later list by expatriates.

    There is a 3.3-acre plot of land located next to Ampang 971 which adjacent to Jalan Ampang. This land is also owned by Island & Peninsular which is planned for a commercial development. There are pros and cons once the development works commenced. As it requires at least 3 years to be built, residents have to bear the cost of pollution in terms of bad air and noise caused for all those years. Not only that, the commercial center will turn Jalan Ritchie into a busier street as well. As for the pros, residents will have nearer spots to find amenities. Residents can probably just take a short walk for a decent meal next-door.

    Commuting to the city from Ampang 971 is quite painful during peak hours. You can opt either Jalan Ampang or Jalan Ampang Hilir which adjacent with Jalan Ampang leading to Jalan Tun Razak. Either or, there is no chance to escape from struggling into bad traffic congestion. But, it only takes about 20 to nearly 40 minutes to get back or into the city centre even during peak hours if you opting for Jalan Ampang Hilir.
