Taman TAR (also known as Taman Tun Abdul Razak) is an affluent and elite residential estate nestled on the hillside of Ampang. It is surrounded by established neighborhoods such as Ampang Jaya and Ukay Heights.
The neighbourhood Taman TAR consists of condominiums, 2- and 3-storey terraces and bungalows. Besides that, there are 3 condominiums nestled in the enclave, namely Menara Indah, Menara Impian and Menara Mutiara. Most of the residents here are high-profile politicians, businessmen, top CEOs and expatriates. This can be evidenced by the number of Bentleys, Ferraris, Hummer and Porches hovering around the enclave.
Taman TAR is well-served by established amenities that include international schools, golf course et cetera. Right at the heart of the enclave, there is Kelab Darul Ehsan (KDE), an established and old golf club. Besides that, there are 2 international schools named International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) and Mutiara International Grammar School located just about 2 kilometres from the neighborhood. Plus, Sri Inai KL is about 15 minutes drive away.
In addition, it is about 3 kilometres away from Ampang Point enclave, a commercial hub that contains almost all banks, a handful of restaurants including Kenny Rogers, Pizza Hut, KFC, Secret Recipe and Nando’s to name a few, and several specialty stores. Ampang Point Shopping Centre houses Giant supermarket and there is MaxValu supermarket located at Petronas station, which is just a stone throw away from Ampang Point.
For recreational activities, Taman TAR seems to have them all. Just within the enclave, KDE offers golf and tennis. Besides that, just 5 minutes away, there is Sports Planet Ampang complex that offers futsal turfs and badminton courts. Furthermore, Taman TAR is also well-known jogging spot among Ampang residents – and you can even spot a few celebrities who regularly jog here as well.
In terms of accessibility, Taman TAR is easily reachable from numerous highways. From Jalan Kerja Air Lama, it is well connected to Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), and Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE). Furthermore, it is just about 5 minutes drive to Ampang RapidKL LRT station.
One will never go wrong with Taman TAR, the location is just great with the lush unspoiled forest behind it. The air here is fresh and breezy. Not only that, it is also strategically located within 10 minutes drive to the city centre via Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH). Furthermore, some residents also enjoy magnificent view of the city centre skyline.
Most of the houses here are very old – aged around 20 years old. They seem already run-down, but about half of the owners have renovated their homes. If you insist to buy a newer one, then perhaps you should buy the bungalow plot at The Peak @ Taman TAR which is quoted around RM220 psf, and build your own mansion within the gated and guarded enclave. However, mind you that the land is also leasehold – just like the rest of Taman TAR.
